Best bets for Caulfield Racing 17 August 2019

Tipster previews the Caulfield Card
AAPMelbourne racing tipster and form analyst Mark Porcheddu previews Saturday's Caulfield card, revealing his top three selections in each race.
Caulfield is currently rated a Soft 5, with the light rain in Melbourne expected to clear on race day.
With the sting out of the track and the rail out 10m, expect backmarkers to find it difficult to make up ground.
Below are my top selections for each race and if you'd like to access my tipping package going forward, you can get it here.
Caulfield Race 1 Tip #12 Pippie $2.30 (Best Bet)
Pippie won with ease last start at Doomben and a repeat of that effort should see her winning again in this race.
Gododdin has form around Sylvia's Mother and beat the handy Street Icon, making her clear second pick.
Suplex City from Adelaide has lighnting speed and gets into this on the limit. Look for him to run a place.
Caulfield Race 2 Tip #2 Benitoite $3.80
This is a tough race, but I'm going with the form horse in Benitoite. With Damien Oliver on board, this mare should prove too hard to beat and make it five wins from seven starts.
Collectable goes in for second. She's a hard horse to catch but she did come home well last start behind Benitoite and meets her here 3.5kg better at the weights.
The WA horse, Ping Me Another, is an interesting runner. She has been racing in fine form and must be included in all exotics.
Caulfield Race 3 Tip #11 Snitzepeg $5.50
Snitzepeg goes on top here. He's in good form, races well at Caulfield and looks ready to win now fourth-up into his prep.
New Universe found the line well at The Valley last start to get back in the winner’s circle. If he repeats that effort here, he'll be in the finish again.
The French import, King of Leogrance, is lightly raced, has plenty of upside and is a big watch. Include him in all trifecta's.
Caulfield Race 4 Tip #11 El Questro $13.00 (Best Value)
Going with the ever consistent El Questro here in a boilover.
This mare is well weighted and has the in-form jockey Ms Linda Meech on board. This race provides the perfect opportnity for her to get back into the winner’s circle.
Smart Elissim is racing very well and with Kerrin McEvoy on board, look for her to be in the mix.
Sam’s Image steps-up in distance and grade, but he's been showing plenty of promise and can be competitive here.
Caulfield Race 5 Tip #1 Dubious $3.60
Dubious was competitive in Group racing last preparation and looks the class runner here.
He looks to have comeback in good order and his Cranbourne trial suggests that he looks ready to fire first-up.
Condo’s Express was impressive at The Valley last start and he has a fitness edge on the majority of this field. Look for him to figure in the finish.
Bivouac looked good last campaign, winning twice and racing well behind Yes Yes Yes. If he can reproduce that form, he'll go close here.
Caulfield Race 6 Tip #8 Brooklyn Hustle $5.00 (Next Best)
I liked the trial of Brooklyn Hustle at Cranbourne earlier this month.
She returns to the track following her Autumn two-year-old campaign and looks like she could be anything. The 3kg weight pull on Lyre might be the difference here.
Lyre will go out favourite and deservedly so. A win in the Blue Diamond and a third in the Golden Slipper suggest she's the class runner of the field, but I'm willing to risk her first-up.
Absolute Flirt was held up last start and with even luck, she can make amends here.
Caulfield Race 7 Tip #9 Begood Toya Mother $3.20
Begood Toya Mother is a very quick galloper and has won six of his ten career starts.
He rises in class here but with the light weight of 54kg and a good first-up record (2:1-10), he comes out on top.
Behemoth ran second in the Group 1 Goodwood in Adelaide and second behind the very fast Assertive Approach. Those form-lines should stack up here and the early betting suggests he'll be competitive.
On her best form, Fundamentalist will be flying late but is likely to find the 1200m a little short. Her class should see her feature in the top three.
Caulfield Race 8 Tip #11 Mystic Journey $2.00
I just can't look past Mystic Journey here.
The gun mare's record is impeccable, she's trialled well in the lead-up and is undefeated over 1400m.
Kenedna finished her Brisbane campaign in style, with a victory in the Group One Doomben Cup. This looks like a good race for her first-up.
The old man Hartnell is another year older and loves Caulfield. He can fire first-up and after his runner-up effort in this race last year, you'd be brave to put a line through him.
Caulfield Race 9 Tip #6 Miss Iano $5.50
Miss Iano is flying at the moment and comes out on top here. She's one from one at the track and distance and looks well suited in this race with plenty of speed engaged.
Grey Shadow has great first-up form with two wins and a second from four starts. She loves 'The Heath', having saluted three times from six starts at the tack and she is clear second pick.
Crack The Code was okay first-up at Flemington and will improve switching back to Caulfield, where she's undefeated at her two starts. She goes in all exotics.
