31/05/19 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets Review

How did our resident tipsters fare?
Lays of the Day review
James Beeson has had cracking success in this column of late, steering punters away from short-priced favourites.
This week proved to be a mixed bag, with Beeson on the mark with 1 of his 2 lays.
Find out which one that was below.
His first lay last Saturday was the $3.10 Savatiano in Eagle Farm Race 4.
There was solid reasoning behind Beeson's decision to lay this horse.
The Godolphin runner was piloted by Tommy Berry, who is the third tier rider for Godolphin behind James McDonald and Kerrin McEvoy.
While this was sound reasoning, Savatiano proved her class and won comfortably.
Beeson's second lay was Luvaluva in Race 7 at Eagle Farm.
While Luvaluva was quite a long favourite at $3.80, this was still an excellent piece of advice from Beeson.
He mentioned "represents rock bottom odds at the current $3.80 quote and is one to avoid at all costs."
This confidence paid off.
Luvuluva drifted out by a point to $4.80, and could only mange 4th place.
Early Market Movers Review
This time-honoured article at theGreatTipOff.com lays out the horses that have been singled out early by pro punters.
Last week this article had stellar success, steering punters into 5 out of 8 winners.
And that effort was replicated again on Saturday, with another 5 horses validating the consistency of this model.
A thumping 88% POT was achieved including 3 winners out of the 4 selections at Randwick, sending punters home on a high.
Best Bets at Flemington Review
Michael Gannon's best bets at Flemington were a massive success in one sense, but a failure in another.
That's because all three of his tips ran a place without any of them finding the win.
However, one of his tips was at a generous price, so punters who bet each-way would've been cheering.
Flemington Race 2: #4 Adversary
Gannon tipped this John Moloney-trained gelding at $8.50, citing his 2.5kg drop and excellent form at the 1600m distance range.
This logic was oh so close to providing the goods, with Adversary finishing a close second to race favourite Fidelia.
But at a place price in excess of $2, those who went each-way saved themselves the heartbreak.
Flemington Race 4: #8 Another Dollar
Another Dollar is an ultra-consistent mare, and as Gannon pointed out, is yet to finish worse than 4th.
This trend continued on Saturday, with Another Dollar coming in 3rd.
This talk of consistency would've swayed some punters into having a saver on the place.
Flemington Race 8: #12 Surprise Baby
This was the absolute burner for punters.
Surprise Baby had all the class coming in, and firmed into outright favouritism.
However, he was pipped by a nose in the photo finish, in the worst possible result for punters who didn't have anything on the place.
Best Bets at Randwick Review
Gannon hit back in style here, steering punters into two winners and another placing from his three Sydney best bets.
One of them came at a big price, that would've had punters jumping up and down.
This tip alone would've ensured a profit across all of Gannon's best bets in Sydney and Melbourne.
Randwick Race 1: #5 Reloaded
It was looking like more of the same when this tip could only manage 2nd place, despite his strong favouritism.
The Anthony Cummings-trained Prince Fawaz produced a minor boilover, in a bad start for punters.
Rosehill Race 2: #3 Lifesaver
This was Gannon's tip of the day, which got home at the ultra-impressive odds of $7.50.
Gannon actually tipped it at $8.50, so if you got on early, then all credit to you.
The article cited trainer Matt Dunn's skill at bringing the right horses to town for these highway races.
And with gun jockey Josh Parr taking the ride, Gannon was confident.
Rosehill Race 4: #4 Wolfe
This was another great tip from Gannon.
He got on at $2.05, and punters who took this price would've been cheering.
That's because it firmed all the way to $1.60, in what was one of the biggest goes of the day.
