Flemington plays host to a competitive card this weekend for its second consecutive Saturday meet.

Fields are once again enormous, which will ensure there is plenty of value to be found across all nine races.

The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail out 3m the entire circuit.

The forecast is for 2-10mm of rain, but it is unlikely to cause a track downgrade.

Flemington Race 2 Tip #4 Adversary $8.50

Has won three from five this prep and is aiming for three-consecutive wins over the 1600m here.

He looks well suited coming back to his own age group and dropping 2.5kg, after two nice wins against older gallopers in BM64 and BM70 grade.

His main rival in this race is the short-priced Fidelia, who meets him 3kg worse at the weights. Furthermore, the favourite's racing pattern suggests that she'll give away a decent start on turning for home.

Drawn barrier three, expect Patrick Maloney to ride Adversary positively from the gates, to sit on-pace.

With the gun run, you'd expect him to look the winner for a long way and with the pull in the weights, he could well prove too strong late.

Flemington Race 4 Tip #8 Another Dollar $3.80

This ultra-consistent mare by Ocean Park is yet to finish worse than fourth at ten career starts, and comes into this run with second-up stats of a win and a second from two attempts.

Her first-up run off a 231-day spell was great, where she ran within 0.4-lengths of Fastnet Tempest who subsequently dominated his rivals in a Group Three at Morphettville.

It's worth noting that her finishing sectionals from that run were amongst the quickest of the day.

Now second-up, she'll strip much fitter and will no doubt eat up the extra 200m.

From barrier nine, look for Craig Newitt to find cover just beyond midfield, before peeling wide and charging over the top late.

Flemington Race 8 Tip #12 Surprise Baby $2.60

This lightly raced gelding by Melbourne Cup winner, Shocking, looks a star on the rise.

He impressed with a dominant win in the Adelaide Cup over 3200m, before having excuses last start when running home well to finish 0.4-lengths third over 2600m at Flemington.

He meets the winner of that race, Steel Prince, 6kg better off this time around.

From the wide draw, he'll go back and let it all unfold in front him. There looks to be plenty of pace engaged for this staying race, which will ensure he'll be running home strong.

He looks a horse with untapped ability, who is ready to stamp his ticket to this year's Melbourne Cup.
