We're finally back at Sandown Lakeside, one of the great racetracks in Victoria for a huge 10-race program on Saturday.

With the rail in the True position, I expect winners to predominantly come from on-speed positions, particularly for races out of the chute.

For those on the course proper, tempo should dictate, but being on speed will still likely hold an advantage.

Sandown Best Bet and Tips from Jack Dickens

 

Race 6 #10 Inevitable Award $7.50

Why Inevitable Award?

• Last Start: This gelding put in a massive effort last time out, racing three wide without cover in a race dominated by on-speed runners. Despite the tough run, he clocked the fastest last 600m, 400m, and 200m of the race. It was a bold and gritty performance.
  
  
• The Map: Jockey Daniel Moor is expected to be positive from the barrier, landing the gelding in an on-speed position. With little early speed in this race, being on pace could be a significant advantage.
  
  
• The Setup: With just seven career starts, this gelding still has plenty of upside. Dropping 1.5kg in weight and stepping up to 2100m—a distance that suits him perfectly after savaging the line last start—this setup looks ideal. Although this is a step up in class, the field doesn’t appear significantly stronger on paper.

If Daniel Moor can give this horse a good steer, Inevitable Award is poised to deliver.
