Race 8 – #10 Sass Appeal

Sass Appeal begins what shapes as an ambitious campaign, with Group 1 targets firmly on the agenda.

The Danny O'Brien-trained four-year-old announced herself as a mare of genuine quality last preparation, winning her final four starts, including a Group 2 victory against her own sex.

She returns to one of her favourite assignments, boasting two wins over the Flemington 1400 metres, and is beautifully placed with just 51.5kg after Jackson Radley's valuable 1.5kg claim.

Her natural on-speed racing pattern should allow Radley to control the race from the front, making full use of the lightweight advantage.

While she may improve further with the run, the weight concession more than compensates and gives her every opportunity to make a winning return.
