Melbourne racing returns to headquarters this Saturday with a strong card at Flemington.

The track is rated in the Good to Soft range, but all eyes will be on the weather with a high chance of light rain on race day.

Begg has specifically targeted this race as a ratings booster to help secure a start in the upcoming Stradbroke Handicap.

He returns to 1200m after a strong win over 1400m on Anzac Day at this track and steps up in class, but crucially, he drops to just 54kg.

He’s also trialled well on wet ground, suggesting he’ll have no trouble handling any sting out of the track.
