What a Saturday of racing we have in store for us!
Three Group 1's headline a massive card at Caulfield including the $1.5 million Blue Diamond Stakes for the 2yos.
In recent years, it has been a race that horses at odds have saluted with the lowest price in the last 4 years being $9.50.
‘Written By’ was the last favourite to win the Blue Diamond back in 2018 and paid $5.50 when doing so.
While the horses in the market look correctly priced, recent history shows we should be taking a few rough chances into consideration.
Cody Lane's Autumn Package is available for Saturday racing.
Track Conditions
The track is currently rated as a Good 4 and with only some scattered light showers expected, it should remain that way.
The running rail goes out 4m, after previously being in the True position two weeks ago, and will see the track play evenly.
Caulfield Race 8 – Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m)
The Map
From the good draw Lady Of Camelot (4) should take up front running with the favourite Coleman (7).
Spywire (18) has been on-pace in 3 of its 4 career runs and may take a stab at coming across from the wide gate to land up towards the speed.
Fellow fancies in the race Bodyguard (6), High Octane (10) and Eneeza (5) should settle just better than midfield in the running line while Blue Diamond Fillies & Mares Prelude winner Hayasugi (11) will settle just worse of midfield.

The Favourite
After an impressive 2.8-length win in blistering time in the Group 3 Chairman's Stakes three weeks back, 2yo Pierata Colt Coleman rocketed to the top of the betting for the Blue Diamond and has remained there till this day.
His race pattern gives him every chance at winning and he has yet to be defeated in his young career.
He will be in front for a long way.
Tips
Declared he would win this race and not about to back out now.
Bodyguard was terrific winning the Prelude for the Colts & Geldings and loved the way he finished off through the line late.
The winner of this feature has come through the Colts & Geldings Prelude in recent years and believe that will be the same here.
He will get a gun run in the race a few pairs back from the pace and they should run at a quick enough tempo to set it up for him to charge over the top of the fancied front-runners.
Coleman returned in an impressive manner when winning the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes in dominant fashion and in blistering time.
Reported to have trained on well since and will make his own luck by being up on-pace.
The pressure from Lady Of Camelot in front may leave him vulnerable late but he should be there for a long way.
With this race producing rough results the last four years, it is essential to look outside the fancied runners and the best of the rough chances looks to be Spywire.
Utterly bizarre he is paying $31 and is way over the odds after his placing in the Magic Millions.
While ‘Storm Boy’ beat him comfortably in the Millions, don’t many think that horse will do the same to the Golden Slipper field?
Has had a superb jump out win at Cranbourne since that run and he looks very likely to run a good race at big odds.
Just has to navigate the wide draw.
High Octane was extremely unlucky in the Colts & Geldings Prelude and would have gone very close to winning with even luck.
He will appreciate a strong tempo and with better luck, should be in the finish also.
1st Bodyguard
2nd Coleman
3rd Spywire
4th High Octane
