9/11/19 Rosehill tips and best bets for Golden Gift Day

Following the success of last weekend's inaugural Golden Eagle, Rosehill Gardens plays host to a competitive nine-race card on Saturday to round out the Everest carnival.

The feature race of the day is the $1 million Golden Gift for the two-year-old's, where the winner gains automatic entry into next year's Golden Slipper.  

With warm weather forecast for Sydney, the track is likely to be rated a Good 4 with the rail out 3m the entire circuit. 

This set-up should see the track play fair, affording all runners their chance.

Rosehill Race 1 Tip #1 Invictus Salute $5.50

This mare ran true to her first-up form last start, when finishing 3.6 lengths off Agent Pippa in a BM78. 

She comes into this race with a proven second-up record (2:1-0-1) and strong from over the 1100m (9:2-1-2). 

The sprinter rises in weight given she's back to racing against her own sex, however she looks well in after the 1.5kg claim for Robbie Dolan. 

From barrier two, Dolan is set to get a dream run on the rails behind the leader which is always a big plus around the sharp turning 1100m at Rosehill. 

From there, look for the mare to push clear and kick strongly to the line.

 

Rosehill Race 2 Tip #17 Southern Appeal $5.50

The son of Not a Single Doubt produced a great run on debut and looked as though he would relish a step up in distance. 

His second-up run over 1200m came in a weak Goulburn maiden, but his last 100m was ultra-impressive and indicated that he would thrive over a longer journey once again. 

He steps up to the 1500m and will only carry 51.5kg after the claim for Robbie Dolan here.

From barrier two, Dolan looks set to get a cosy run two pairs back on the rail. With even luck, he can use his turn of foot to chase hard to the line.
