24/07/21 Caulfield Tips & best bets for Saturday Racing

Early oil for Bletchingly Stakes Day
AAPTagged: Caulfield
Caulfield is the venue for our Melbourne free best bets this weekend, with the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes highlighting a cracking nine race program.
The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 and with wet weather predicted for the remainder of the week, participants will be met with a rain affected surface.
With the rail out 4m the entire circuit combined with the heavy going, you can expect riders to hunt for the better going out wide whilst runners on the inside to be hindered.
Caulfield Tips from TheMelbourneMail
Caulfield Race 3 Tip #1 Sunfall $3.50
The 2YO's are set to do battle in the Vobis Gold Ingot here, a race over the 1400m worth $150K.
I'm keen on the progressive Zoustar gelding Sunfall, who comes into this race second-up off an impressive fresh win.
He got back to last that day at Geelong, and off a slow tempo did extremely well to circle the entire field and record a meeting fastest last 400m and 200m sectional through the line to score.
It was an extremely good return, and the fact that it was in similar conditions to those he will encounter on Saturday gives me added confidence about his chances here.
At the end of last preparation, he SP'd as a $7.50 chance against eventual Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Artorius. He had a very unlucky run that day and pulled up lame.
Those form-lines are extremely strong and I'm confident this Price/Kent Jnr runner can make it two wins on the bounce.
Caulfield Race 7 Tip #11 The Garden $7.00
Very excited to see The Garden get his first chance at Saturday level here in this handicap race against his own sex and age.
It is a horse I have been following prior to his debut at Warrnambool, where he should've won but was forced to sit wide without cover the entire trip and was just no match late.
Immediately spelled, he returned at Geelong last start and looked every part a very smart horse, putting away that maiden field over the 1247m by 2 lengths.
He ran the race fastest last 400m and 200m sectionals to win, and those sectionals were also inside the top 5 on the entire program. Furthermore, the time he ran for that trip was over 3 lengths quicker than the BM64 time on the same program.
He clearly handles the wet surfaces which is a big positive here, and the booking of Craig Williams shows huge intent.
Craig is a noted form analyst and I suspect he's contacted Symon Wilde and requested the mount.
From the wide draw here, look for them to restrain and settle back with some cover.
There looks a solid tempo on paper, and this horse will be steaming home off that speed out in the better going as well.
