We struck twice at Kembla last Saturday, with the highlight coming in the last when Bring The Ransom saluted at the $5.50 odds identified at the time of publication.
Punters have locked onto a number of runners early again this week, at both key venues.
At Moonee Valley, a Danny O’Brien mare looks primed with the perfect set-up and blinkers added for the first time.
Whilst in Sydney, a Freedman trained runner could simply blow them all away in the 2400m staying contest.
As always, any further market push close to start time would add extreme confidence.
Moonee Valley Tips
Zouzarella
Given the high-profile ownership of Brendan Lindsay (Cambridge Stud), the Freedman camp wouldn't be presenting this horse here unless she was ready to win.
Cambridge expect results and the stable know if they don’t deliver, horses will be removed from their care.
She must be working the house down at home and you can expect her to be ready to fire.
Sugartown
Gets blinkers here and is now rock hard fit.
With the key gear change (blinkers on for the first time) and fitness on her side, expect her to bounce straight to the front and prove very hard to run past.
She shapes as one of the best bets on the card and it would be a big surprise if something can run her down. Yes
Ocular
Love the map here for this horse, who can let the speed go and receive the perfect tow in the moving line just in behind.
He was good at Caulfield last start, when he just kept coming to finish a close up (2.4 lengths) 6 of 10.
The stable are very shrewd and have him rock hard fit now.
Degraves
Is likely to be one of the star horses this Spring and showed great ability winning at Flemington last start (on protest).
He is likely to be charging from a midfield position and should take plenty of improvement from the Australian debut run.
The Williams camp love a bet and if money arrives close to start time, he'll be in the finish.
Randwick Tips
Shuffle Up
Was well backed ($4.80 into $3.90) late at Kensington last start, before duly saluting in an ultra-impressive win.
Expect the rider to find an ideal position midfield with cover, to peel and charge home as they enter the straight.
No reason why he can't go right on with it and win again here. He could start shorter.
Geist
Godolphin 4YO mare who arrives first-up for this and does come out of a hot trial (Nags To Riches).
She must be showing them enough at home to warrant this early support in betting.
Although not a noted first-up performer, she could have been prepared differently this prep and be much more forward. Watch betting late.
Prime Star
The Golden Slipper winning Freedman camp are simply flying and will be looking to repay the faith shown by China Horse Club here.
This gelding has been readied with two solid trial hit outs, when winning one and not asked to do too much in his latest.
They could be looking to find the wider ground at this later stage in the day, hence the wide draw (gate 10) may suit.
Great News
Is an interesting long price move here, having been crunched in from the big opening odds of $31.
I suspect punters have locked onto the good first-up record (4:3-1-0) and the stable starting to find some excellent recent form.
From a wide draw (14), look for her to be midfield in the moving line and getting to what could be the best part of the track, wider in the straight.
