21/6/19 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets Review

How did our resident tipsters fare?
Lays of the Day review
James Beeson identified two horses that were well under the odds last Saturday, including the favourite for the feature Ipswich Cup.
He warned punters to steer clear at all costs.
We hope they listened, because both of his lays were right on the mark.
Make sure you check out this Saturday's Lays of the Day here.
His first lay was Fighting Teo in Ipswich Race 7.
Beeson was worried about the big jump in class that this runner had to deal with, as well as the tight turning Ipswich track.
He was also up against some seasoned performers, who had plenty of stakes level experience.
And they proved too strong, with Fighting Teo finishing more than two lengths back.
Beeson's second lay was the $2.40 Asterius in Rosehill Race 3.
Asterius was likewise facing a rise in grade.
Beeson also thought that the "Waller factor" caused this runner to be well unders, with the high-profile trainer attracting mug money.
And this proved true, with the second favourite Passage of Time getting the win.
Best Bets for Saturday races review
In this article we collect the best bets from three of our leading tipsters.
It was a hard-luck tale this time, with our tipsters each finding a place.
A shade more luck and the champagne would've been flowing.
Free Racing Tips from Michael Gannon
Ipswich Race 2: #11 Karaja
Gannon's faith in Karaja was based off her stellar first-start win and then a solid trial performance.
She certainly looked the winner on Saturday, but fell just short.
There was less than a length in it, with Karaja finishing 3rd.
Rosehill Race 7: #10 Sweet Victory
Sweet Victory was the last of Gannon's best bets and this galloper had run a place in all three of her previous second-up runs.
She was second-up again here and put in a big run to finish just half a length behind the winner.
Unfortunately for each-way punters, this was in 4th place.
Free Racing Tip from Ben Beare
Kembla Grange Race 5: #1 Super Pins $2.60
Super Pins was Beare's only best bet of the day.
Off the back of some good trial form, Beare stated that this runner was ready to go first up.
While he ran a good race to finish second, he was no match for Secretly, who won well.
Free Racing Tips from Matt Buckland
Rosehill Race 3: #4 Asterius
Buckland had two racing tips for the day, both at Rosehill.
This talented Waller-trained gelding also ran a good race to finish second.
But he couldn't catch Passage of Time, who made every post a winner.
Rosehill Race 8: #12 Sylvia's Mother
There's no doubting the quality of this filly.
She sat out the back and flew home in what was a blanket finish.
Sadly for punters, it was too little too late, with Sylvia's Mother finishing a length back in fifth.
