20/02/21 Rosehill Tips for Silver Slipper & Hobartville

Primed for success

Rosehill is the venue for Sydney racing this Saturday, with a nine race card highlighted by three massive Group 2 events.
The two main races on the card are the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes for three-year-old's and the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes for two-year-old's.
Supporting the main events is the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes for the fillies and mares.
Track Assessment
Rosehill is currently rated a Heavy 8 and light rain is forecast for Sydney in the lead up.
Punters should expect the track to remain in the Heavy range.
Based on recent meetings at the track, results have favoured those horses on-pace and off the rail.
Keep an eye out for genuine wet trackers who have fitness on their side.
Rosehill Race 5 - Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes 1100m
The Map
There looks to be some speed to the outside here, with Direct (10) likely to streak forward from the wide gate and Paulele (9) to come across with him.
Depending on what unfolds on the inside, those horses may have to do some extra work to lead or risk getting caught wide.
Home Affairs (1) will undoubtedly kick forward from the inside gate and you can expect Four Moves Ahead (4) to make use of the favourable draw to sit one out one back.
Tiger of Malay (4) and Rocket Tiger (2) will settle behind the leading group, with Zethus (7) likely to tuck in worse than midfield from an awkward draw.
That leaves King of Sparta (3) and Doola Teela (6) trailing the field.
Dio (5) is a query. He jumped well in his first trial but then missed the kick half a length at his second trial, so he could end up midfield or worse.
The Favourite
The early favourite in this race is Four Moves Ahead ($2.50) who is back from a let-up with the Golden Slipper in mind.
The daughter of Snitzel was very impressive on debut and despite sitting three wide the trip with no cover, she streaked away to win eased down by 2.8 lengths.
She did it in good time and can only improve from that run. Since then, she has had a nice trial to top her off and she is back ready to make her presence felt.
It is likely that she will end up for a nice run in transit and providing she doesn't have any mishaps in the run, she is going to be very hard to hold out.
Analysis and Tips
Rocket Tiger ($13.00) is over the odds for a horse who has two wins next to his name.
He had a tough win first-up at Canberra, before he was given no hope at Randwick in the Boxing Day Plate when he fought tooth and nail to get the win.
If this becomes a dog fight, he is the one you want to be with and he is ridiculous odds.
Rosehill Race 7 - Group 2 Hobartville Stakes 1400m
The Map
There looks to be some decent early speed here, with Easy Campese (2) kicking forward from barrier 2 and Peltzer (5) likely to be ridden positively from a nice draw.
Prague (1) will jump positively to sit just off the leaders with Lion's Roar (3), who generally races in a forward position.
The rest of the field is likely to sort themselves as they jump.
The Favourite
Aegon ($4.00) is the favourite here and brings some different form-lines to the table.
The undefeated Sacred Falls colt heads over the ditch to try and win some solid prizemoney here, on the back of winning the Hawkes Bay Guineas, the New Zealand 2000 Guineas and the 3YO Karaka Millions.
You have to be very weary when the Baker & Forsman team bring one over from New Zealand, because more often than not they perform well and walk away with the goods.
I'm going to be against him here first-up as I believe with the track, rail and conditions at play, he'll disadvantaged at the rear of the field along the inside rail.
Analysis and Tips
Peltzer ($4.20) won well first-up and is out to prove that he can win away from Randwick.
He is yet to win in three starts at Rosehill but after that first-up run, how could you go against him.
He maps well here and gets the conditions to suit his style. Tim Clark has opted to ride him over Prime Star and despite that first-up run being a touch behind ratings wise, he can improve again.
Prime Star ($12.00) is one who is over the odds and the market appears to have over-reacted due to the jockey acquisition and the barrier.
His figures first-up were impressive and the race itself was faster than the Eskimo Prince win by Peltzer, despite the last 600m almost being identical.
He is another who is going to improve second-up.
He is definitely worth an each-way ticket because if he can get a nice enough run, he won't be far away.
