This is the final weekend of racing at Royal Randwick before it gets a well deserved break from Saturday meets.

The main event on the card is the $1 Million Bondi Stakes which is unfortunately below expectations when it comes to field quality.

Supporting the main event is the Nivison for the mares and the Brian Crowley for the three-year-old's.

Track Conditions

The Randwick track is currently rated a Good 4. There are some light showers forecast in the lead up to Saturday, but I don't expect conditions to deteriorate.

The rail is out 4m the entire circuit. At this set-up, expect the majority of winners to come from on-pace or midfield positions.

Randwick Race 6 - Bondi Stakes 1600m

The Map Speed Map

The pace looks fair on paper as Elizabeel (2) will stride forward which is going to make Peltzer (6) push a touch harder to get the lead if he wants it.

I think Prime Star (8) will also push forward and be closer in the run which is going to help his chances.

Acrophobic (1) will be in a prime position behind them with Red Stiletto (5) and Real Peace (3) settling mid-field, and the rest sorting themselves out behind.

The Favourite Horse Racing

Peltzer ($3.00) has opened up the favourite off his win last start.

The So You Think colt lead from start to finish and held off the remainder of the field late in the piece. He was still travelling well through the line which gives me the indication that the step up to a mile here isn't going to be an issue.

He will go forward and may have to do a touch more work than last start, however this will be his fifth run this preparation, so he should be at peak fitness.

He is going to need a mid-race breather to be lethal late but will Tim Clark sit behind Elizabeel if she decides to kick up? I surely hope so.

Analysis and Tips Horse Racing Tip

For everything I have already said, Peltzer ($3.00) is a deserved favourite and I am happy to stick with him and his class. I am banking on Tim Clark reading the situation well and taking a sit behind the leader if need be before unleashing in the straight.

The other winning hope I will be having money on is Acrophobic ($6.50). He gets the winkers for the first time which is going to help him settle better as he steps up to the mile for the first time.

He hit the line very well last start behind rivals Peltzer and Prime Star and I just think with the gear change and the fact he is about to hit peak fitness, he may just upset these two. This could very well have been the target for him this prep. Watch for him late!

Randwick Race 7 - The Nivison 1200m (Group 3)

The Map Speed Map

Sweet Deal (1) finally draws a gate after two bad gates in her first two starts. She will go forward from there with Blazing Miss (9) also heading forward, probably together with Seasons (11).

Wandabaa (4) will hold the fence in the mid-field with Jen Rules (6) on its outside and Positive Peace (7) attempting to slot in. Athiri (8) will have to settle in the second half of the field with Tricky Gal (3).

The final three Asharani (2), Evalina (5) and Insensata (10) will be settling at the rear of the field.

The Favourite Horse Racing

Athiri ($4.80) is the favourite early doors in what looks to be a wide open race.

Athiri is aiming for three wins on the trot after back to back victories over this track and distance in benchmark 88 fields.

Although she is in form, she will be giving some of these classy mares a head start and her form in the past has been suspect in the better races.

Despite all this, there is a good chance she has turned it all around and could just blow these away.

Analysis and Tips Horse Racing Tip

This is wide open and I will be playing around these two mares.

Jen Rules ($8.00) will be my top pick after two thrilling runs in the Group 2 Sheraco and Golden Pendant. She came from the back in both races and finished second and third respectively. She looks to have turned her form around well after strong performances in her previous preparation.

She drops to a Group 3 and remains at the same weight as her previous two races. She should be able to sit a little bit closer which hopefully this time, which will give her an advantage.

Sweet Deal ($7.00) is the other runner I want to back. I am a big fan and with the ideal draw off a nice little freshen up, she will be fighting out the finish. She will give us a brilliant sight for our money and if she is at her best, will be hard to beat.
