SandGroper's Best Bets for Saturday September 9
SandGroper has made a motza once again for his followers this week. The West Australian punter's racing tips made 84% profit on turnover, landing his followers $5,028 profit from $100 win bets.
Here's Sandgroper's early mail for Saturday September 9.
Sarajevo - Doomben R7 #4 - won his trial in quick time when sitting second in the running behind Forever Loved before hooking outside the leader in the straight. Fought out the finish and while they didn't break the clock, he wasn't pushed. Finished 2.3 lengths sixth when resuming however stewards reported that he began awkwardly and was hampered a short distance later. Well suited here.
Imanui – Rosehill R3 #11 - beaten two lengths last start when stewards reported that he was slow to begin then couldn't get clear running in the home straight when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Gold Horizon. The start was very costly and he has run into trouble at his last 3 starts. Capable of a big improvement here.
Malkara - Gold Coast R4 #5 - fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly then Galloway lost his irons, losing substantial ground as a result. Made worse when Galloway lost his whip at the 100m. Bit hot for him at his last start Gold Coast - better suited here.
Houtzen - Moonee Valley R5 #7 - isn't this filly a rocket?! The daughter of I Am Invincible could scarcely have been more impressive back in January when thrashing her seven rivals by 4.5L over the Gold Coast 1100m, with jockey Jeff Lloyd having more looks over the shoulder than a Volvo driver. Then went on to win the Magic Millions. Craig Williams to ride this time but he will do the job.
Lockroy - Belmont R6 #5 was always going to be up against it in conditions he hasn't been handling since arriving in WA from the eastern states last season. So to finish an unlucky fourth, beaten just over two lengths says plenty for his determination. Riding for luck along the inside after being shuffled back to midfield as the race unfolded, he only saw daylight over the final 100 metres and was unable to quicken effectively in the run to the line. Back onto a good surface in a similar race he should prove hard to hold out with any luck in running. Won at $13 on 26th August.
