Hawkesbury is the venue for NSW provincial racing on Thursday this week, with a seven race card offering up plenty of betting opportunities for punters.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 9 and fine weather is forecast for the North West Sydney region.

Expect the leaders to hold an advantage early, before the track bias evens out later in the day.

From the stewards

The horse that stands out in the pre-steward's report here is Spirituality, who lines up in race 6.

The Spirit Of Boom filly has her first race start since December, where she ran fourth in the Inglis Nursery.

She was found to have a laceration that day, after being galloped on throughout the race and was lame.

Expect a bold showing, with the filly set to go forward from the wide barrier.

Jockey to follow

Rachel King rides the Hawkesbury track better than most.

In the past 12 months, King has ridden here 72 times for 16 wins at a 22% strike rate.

King has 2 rides today in races 5 & 6, both at good each-way odds.

I've identified 3-races on today's card that represent good betting opportunities.

Below is my best bet and quaddie numbers. For my full tip package and runner comments, click here.

Hawkesbury Race 2 Tip #4 Whitchety Grub $5.00

The Wandjina filly looks for three in a row here and is perfectly placed to do it.

Last start at Mudgee, she sat just behind the leader before surging clear in the straight and really hitting the line hard.

She finds a suitable race here, where she looks set to dictate out in front. Although she's drawn wide, there are only 6 runners in the race so she should be able to cross with ease.

She sticks to 1500m which is ideal and Tom Sherry takes the ride, who is the best jockey in this apprentice only race.

I expect her to take up the running and get away with some easy sectionals, before proving very hard to hold out.

Hawkesbury Quaddie Numbers

Race 4: 1, 2, 4, 7

Race 5: 3, 9

Race 6: 3, 4

Race 7: 2, 3, 5, 7
