Warwick Farm Race 3 Tip #8 Waka $2.80

This three-year-old filly by Domesday bounced back to her best last start.

The step up to 2000m on a dry Kembla Grange track was the catalyst for her impressive win that day, as she romped to victory by 2.3 lengths.

She goes up an extra 200m here and gets a Good 4 surface, which are both key factors to her chances in this race.

While this is a rise in grade from a class one to a benchmark 70, it's a natural progression for this talented filly who meets an ordinary bunch of mid-week gallopers.

The booking of multiple group one winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy is a huge indicator that the stable have her flying and that she's ready to take the next step.

From the gun draw in barrier four, look for McEvoy to find cover in the back half of the field. From there, she'll be perfectly positioned to peel wide on the turn and run over the top late.

The early market support from $3.20 into $2.70 is a good sign and it wouldn't surprise to see this girl start much shorter come start time.

Sale Race 1 Tip #3 Don’ttelltheboss $2.20

This two-year-old filly caught my eye in a few jump-outs at Cranbourne earlier this month.

In her first hit-out, she showed good early speed and was untested going to the line under her own steam to finish in good time. One of the horses who finished behind her was Green Rules, who went on to win his first start at Bendigo last Sunday.

Her second jump-out was even more impressive. After adopting a similar race pattern to jump and lead, this time she put a margin on them.

Drawing the wide gate here, I think she has the ability to cross the field and prove too speedy against this limited opposition.

Sale Race 5 Tip #11 Purrfect Scent $3.10

I thought she showed glimpses of ability through her trials and jump outs early on, but she's had mixed form since kicking off her career.

It looks as though she's finally starting to put it all together now however, following her last start second when she was just out-bobbed by the subsequent Flemington winner Huntly Castle.

With the services of Jamie Mott employed here, she should be able to sit up on-speed with cover and prove too strong late against some average types.

Expect the penny to finally drop for the talented mare.
