Tuesday racing heads to Hawkesbury this week, for a very challenging eight race card.

The track is currently rated a Soft 6 and fine weather is forecast for the western Sydney region.

The rail is in the 4m position from the 1300m to the winning post and true the remainder, so punters should expect a fair racing surface.

From the stewards - Race 3 Paprena

The Fastnet Rock filly was fractious in the barriers last start but was passed fit to jump.

She was then slow to begin and raced tightly for room, before being steadied off heels near the 500m mark.

The rider stated that she never travelled well from the point and was disappointing. Post race, she was found to be lame in the off fore leg.

Since then, she has switched to the Brad Widdup stable and has had one trial to prepare for this hit-out.

Expect significant improvement after her troublesome debut, and she should give a sight at juicy odds.

Jockey to follow

Tim Clark has tremendous stats at Hawkesbury.

Clark has had 18 rides here in the past 12 months, winning 7 at a strike rate of 39%.

The gun hoop is booked for 5 rides, with his best chance coming in Race 4 on Sole Heir.

I've identified 3-races on today's card that represent good betting opportunities. Below is my best bet on the card and my quaddie numbers.

Hawkesbury Race 6 Tip #7 Extreme Jewel $9.50

The Zoustar filly gets the chance to notch up another victory here.

Last start at this track, she drifted back after being drawn awkwardly but flew home late. She ran the quickest last 600m in 35.58, recording 11.26 from the 400m to the 200m and 11.42 in the last 200m.

This was very impressive considering she was wide without cover for the final 800m of the race.

She rises an extra 100m for this clash and retains the services of Alysha Collett. The softer draw here should allow for an economical run and ensure she's finishing off strong late.

With the lengthy straight and the amount of pace in the race, expect her to get every chance and with even luck she can win this.
