Key runners down in grade

This week’s edition of market movers features a number of horses who will benefit from a significant drop in grade.

Punters have unleashed on the Sunshine Coast, where betting suggests class relief should be telling for many of the below selections.

At Rosehill, look out for one that has returned from the Brisbane carnival. She appears likely to continue her domination of the weaker Winter grades back in Sydney.

Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast Tips

Tarzan

Loves to race close to the speed and has shown great ability to hold on of late, having won well at this track and distance (1000m) last start.

He is likely to find the position just outside the leader and provided they fall into position quickly and don’t attack, he has the ability to kick away strongly in the straight.

Just needs a cheap section mid-race to be very hard to get past late. Yes.

Hectopascal

Took on stakes grade two starts back, where she was not completely disgraced after finishing only 4.55 lengths off the winner.

Since then she ran well at Ipswich, after having genuine excuses due to interference throughout.

The Gollan/Stewart combination is well proven and given more luck here, she has to be an excellent winning hope.

Intrinsic

Another that drops back from recent stakes grade events to a more suitable contest.

She was fair in the Listed Gai Waterhouse at Ipswich last start, however prior to that the mare was well supported in benchmark grade where she ran well.

This looked a savage move as soon as betting opened, with a big first cut which is always an excellent sign.

Back to a Benchmark 75 here, she can sprout wings. Yes

Baccarat Baby

Has raced at Group level in her past 3 starts, culminating in the Group 1 Tattersalls Tiara where she was thrown in against the older horses as a 3yo.

She comes back to 3yo Set Weights for this, where conditions will certainly favour.

The rider should have her midfield in the moving line and from there, peeling to run home at the right time.

The class relief will be telling.

Rosehill

Rosehill Tips

White Boots

Kept chasing last start here over 1800m to hold second and with fitness building, the 2000m should now suit.

With speed map favours in the small field, he can jump straight to the front, stack them and look to control throughout.

I suspect that is why the money has come, as the race appears devoid of any genuine tempo.

He could simply pull their pants down from out in front. Yes.

England

Carries the hope of some high profile names in racing, who will expect results from the trainer.

He raced well at Rosehill at his past two, winning two starts back and then finishing second in his latest.

In both of those runs, they opted to ride back in the field which appears to have unlocked his ability.

From gate 9, they will race off speed again and be storming home over the top late.

Itz Lily

The stable thought highly enough of her to enter in the Brisbane carnival, where she ran well in The Roses at Doomben.

Since then, she has returned to Sydney and won well at Randwick last start after a torrid run having been wide with no cover.

She looks to be as tough as teak and this is a very strong move in betting, from a stable who rarely miss.

Make her the best bet of the weekend nationwide.

Bon Amis

Has a touch of class and loves the Rosehill 1100m (6:4-2-0)!

The first up run in the June Stakes was excellent ,where he just missed when finishing 2 of 10 behind the smart Deprive.

He will be much fitter for the run and from gate 1, the rider can suck up along the rail for the entire trip.

Speed map favours and a dominant record here suggest he simply wins. Yes.
