Rosehill Gardens plays host to a nine-race card, with the Listed WJ McKell Cup the feature event of the day.

The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail will be out 3m the entire circuit.

With 1-8mm of rain predicted to fall on race day, a minor downgrade into the Soft range is on the cards.

Rosehill Race 1 Tip #8 Rotator $5.00

This filly impressed at her first preparation, running second in the Group Three Widden before flying home to finish fourth in the Pierro Plate.

Off the back of a spell, the talented galloper showed good early speed in a trial, running second after being held under wraps for the entire run.

At her second trial, she sat mid-field throughout the run before being produced on the home turn and letting down well. She ran third on that occasion, in what was another solid hit-out.

Drawn barrier one for this, you'd love to see jockey Jason Collet use the early speed she showed in her recent trial to hold an on-pace position.

From there, it will just be a matter of riding patiently and being ready to strike when the gaps appear.

She looks to be a galloper with above average ability and it wouldn't surprise to see her put a gap in this field.

Rosehill Race 3 Tip #14 Riverbird $10.00 each-way

This filly by Epaulette put the writing on the wall at the trials, when she handled the likes of Gongs and Prophet's Thumb with ease.

At her first start this prep, she broke her maiden in nice style over 1000m at Wyong.

The runner-up of that race, Manly Cove, franked that form after going on to record a 2.4 length win at Gosford.

There is no doubt that this is a decent step-up in grade from a maiden to a BM74.

However, this filly has shown above average ability at all her starts, including a third in the Group Three Widden Stakes as a two-year-old.

At her last preparation, she clashed with the second-favourite for this race, Ljungberg, and went down by the narrowest of margins.

Riverbird now meets Ljungberg 6.5kg better at the weights and given the narrow margin of defeat (0.2 lengths), she looks to have a clear advantage this time around.

Drawn barrier 11, look for jockey Kathy O'Hara to sit just beyond-midfield as per her normal racing pattern, watching the race unfold in front.

From there, O'Hara will be perfectly positioned to peel wide and fly at the leaders late.

Now second-up and with a win under her belt, she's ready to take the next step and has found the perfect race to do so.
