1/6/19 Caulfield tips and best bets for Saturday Racing

Best bets at Caulfield
AAPCaulfield plays host to a competitive nine-race card this Saturday, where the track is rated a Soft 6 and the rail out 14m the entire circuit.
A further 2-10mm of rain is forecasted over coming days and the track is likely to remain rain affected.
At the last meeting here, the rail was out 10m and the best going was well off the rail.
Before diving in, punters should tread with caution early on to see how the track is playing.
Caulfield Race 4 Tip #2 Mr Reckless $4.00
This Chris Waller trained galloper ran well over the Flemington mile last start, finishing second on his Australian debut.
He's been kept fresh for this run, with connections electing to give him one soft trial to keep him ticking over following a short spell.
Although the form guide reads first-up here, there is no doubt the stable would have kept him sharp during his time away from the track.
With residual fitness from his March run, punters would be wise to reference his unbeaten second-up record when weighing up his prospects here.
Drawn barrier six, expect jockey Michael Dee to sit three pairs back with cover, behind a strong tempo.
From there, he'll be well positioned to peel wide and fly over the top late.
He looks a horse with plenty of upside and it he should be followed throughout this prep and beyond.
Caulfield Race 8 Tip #3 All About Nicci $14.00 each-way
This mare by Nicconi bounced back to winning ways last start, when she weaved through traffic to storm home and win over the Caulfield 1100m on a Soft 5.

She goes up 1.5kg here for her win and must now reproduce the same effort over 1200m.
In positive signs, James Winks retains the ride and she stays on a soft Caulfield surface.
With showers forecast leading into Saturday, the rain affected track will give her a distinct edge on her rivals. Six of her seven wins have come on soft tracks, whilst the other was on a heavy suface.
Drawn barrier three, look for Winks to get a cosy run mid-field off a hot-tempo, before peeling wide on turning for home and flashing late.
With similar conditions to her last start win, a repeat of that effort has her right in this race.
