Ballarat and Rosehill betting opportunities
This week’s Ballarat stand-alone Saturday meeting has provided a number of vicious early market moves in betting.
With the Ballarat track out of the limelight for most of the year it is not as closely analysed as other key Saturday venues. So expect further significant moves before they jump, as professional punters continue to interpret how races will run at the country track.
We have also identified a number of key betting moves at Rosehill where the nature of the track is clearly far more exposed. Despite Rosehill track traits being better understood, punters still hold different views about how it will race week-to-week.

I Am Someone
Was heavily backed late in betting at Moonee Valley last time out ($2.70 to $2.35) where he travelled wide and was held up in the straight before charging late to grab third place.
He must be showing the stable plenty at home and this race looks a nice target. Yes.
Not A Royal Doubt
Gai and Adrian always send a good 2yo down for this race in an attempt to qualify for the main Magic Millions event on the Gold Coast in January.
She arrives here after winning one Randwick trial when ridden along in the concluding stages. They know the right horse to send and she should have the Victorians covered.
Winning Partner
Eased late in betting last start at Bendigo however still got the job done when he raced away to win impressively. This is much harder although he will receive favours from gate 4 and have one of the most economical runs in the race.
The Tony McEvoy stable are on fire and warrant respect in anything they enter.
Superhard
A provincial star who made a rare trip to town last start at Flemington for the restricted Country Cup, where he did measure up when running a sound 2 of 16 in a good quality race.
Love the SP profile where he has been heavily backed on specific occasions and the pro punters again must feel he is an excellent chance in this. Yes.

Cradle Mountain
Denied a strong market drift last start ($2.40 to $2.70) to win well first-up when there were a few question marks regarding how he had come back. There is no doubting the surgery has worked and although this is a much deeper race, he appears right up to it.
Key booking of top hoop Kerrin McEvoy is a great lead.
Napoleon Solo
Was ultra impressive as the odds-on favourite last start at Randwick when he got back and came home the widest, before running on strongly over the top of his rivals. That was in maiden grade, however this is not the strongest benchmark 78 you will see, and he is more than capable of stringing two wins together.
Money looks warranted.
Campari
Won well last start at Randwick where she ran away from them all in the end. This will be harder however she deserves her chance.
J Mac has chosen to ride which is an excellent plus for punters and he can make all the difference in these situations. Can continue the winning form. Yes.
