Sha Tin plays host to a strong 10 race card today, with all races coming on the turf  “A+3” course.

This is a very fair track, which allows winners to come from forward and back.

We've had cooler weather in Hong Kong this week, with fine conditions forecast for today's racing.

Joao Moreira, Karis Teetan and Keith Yeung are suspended for this meeting.  Joao was also suspended at Happy Valley on Wednesday, which resulted in 7 different jockeys riding winners.

Vincent Ho was able to ride a double on Wednesday and is the one to watch at this meeting, as he rides rising star Lucky Express in the final race.

Sha Tin Race 3 Tip #2 Mighty Valor $2.80

Mighty Valor will have his season debut on Sunday, after spending the summer break at Conghua.

This stable took a similar approach in the lead up to last season, before the horse broke through for his maiden victory.

The now four year old gelding is now more mature and carrying 59.5kg is not a problem for him.

He has consistent gate speed and from barrier 8, he should find the lead with ease.

He's been given two trials in the lead up to this run, and looks ready to fire at his best distance today.

Sha Tin Race 5 Tip #4 Maldives $2.40

Maldives had two starts last season over the 1200m at both Sha Tin and Happy Valley 1200m.

He chased well in both runs, but was still very green and was unable to run a place at either start.

He gave the indication that he'd be better suited over longer distances, so the 1400m first-up here looks suitable.

The four-year-old has shown great improvement over the break and displayed a dynamic turn of foot at his two trials.

The booking of Zac Purton is a good indication the horse is going well and he looks set for his first win today.
