Tramway Quality Handicap

Tramway Quality Handicap 2014

Sat, 06 September 2014

The Tramway Quality Handicap is a Group 2 race for four-year-old and up horses run over 1400 metres at Randwick racecourse. Horses doing well in this race typically set their sites on races like the Group 1 weight-for-age George Main Stakes run over 1600 metres held two weeks after this race, and the Group 1 Epsom Handicap run over 1600 metres at Randwick, in which they get an exemption from the ballet if they win.

In 2011 Sincero won the Furious Stakes and went on to win the George Main Stakes, and in the same year, Secret Admirer was runner up in the Furious Stakes and went on to win the Epsom.

In 2013 Malvio won the race after getting a nice trail behind Bello for a good part of the race. In the straight Malvio had more in reserve than Bello and got her head over the finish line first. After a swooping run in the later stages of the race, Royal Descent finished third.
