Race 2 - #6 Free Beer $9.00

This gelding has far more ability than his moderate record suggests, often finding trouble in his races.

He resumes here off a strong recent trial and importantly, finds a race with good early speed, which should allow him to settle and finish strongly.

While this is a competitive race, his best form suggests he’s over the odds at the double-figure price currently available.

With even luck, he’ll be hitting the line hard and looks an excellent 1x3 each-way bet.

Race 3 - #5 Spirit Of Camelot $4.50

A mare with serious upside, Spirit Of Camelot resumes here and is primed for a first-up smash job.

With Black-type potential in the near future, she looks extremely well placed in this field.

Her two trials leading in have been superb, and she looks ready to fire fresh.

She maps beautifully from the inside draw, should land on speed, and in a race lacking genuine tempo, she’ll be hard to run down once she finds her rhythm.

The early price is more than generous, making her an each-way special at the current odds.

Race 7 – Group 2 Adelaide Cup Preview 3200m

The Adelaide Cup is the feature event of the day, and at this stage, bookmakers have played it safe with their early markets, offering little in the way of standout value.

The depth of the field is questionable, making it a race where the leading contenders are expected to dominate.

While there are no huge early overs, our rated prices highlight the key runners expected to be in the finish.

If he can see out the trip strongly, he is a genuine top-three chance and worth consideration for exotics.

Likely to be thereabouts without being a standout winning chance.

A tough on-pacer who grinds away late.

If the race turns into a true staying contest, expect her to fight on gamely and she could cause a surprise at double-figure odds.

3. ALHAMBRA LAD $16

Will need plenty to go his way, but has the stamina and resilience to be competitive.

If the tempo is strong and others fade late, he could sneak into the placings at a big price.
