Sky Racing Tips from Brodie Nickson - Doomben and Canterbury 7/8/24

Interesting day of racing at Canterbury and Doomben, there isn’t anything we want to
step into too heavily but have found a few horses to speck on the way.

Both tracks are rated a Soft 5 and expect a few horses to edge off the fence and make their
runs down the centre.

 

Canterbury Best Bet and Tips from Brodie Nickson

Race 5 #3 The Englishman $4.80

Backed the Peter Snowden-trained five-year-old last start at Randwick where the market
piled into him, he started clear favourite and didn’t quite have the right set-up.

He was forced to make his run in the slightly inferior ground and battled home.

Albeit there is no reason why he still could not have won, The Englishman was building
beautifully into that run, hence the market support.

He steps back in grade to Canterbury this afternoon and tackles an easier race.

Expect him to get a soft run on the fence from barrier two and be strong late.

 

Doomben Best Bet and Tips from Brodie Nickson

Race 1 #14 Tessatori $2.00

Tremendous return in a funny race has the daughter of Territories primed to breakthrough.

Tessatori was caught wide and working first-up at Doomben, left completely flat-footed before presenting to the outside and savaging the line.

She ran some of the best closing splits of the day.

She gains no weight staying at the 53kg following Melea Castle’s three-kilogram claim, gets another 150m and is drawn better following scratchings.
