A great day of racing at Rosehill and Doomben which provided an intriguing review.
Horses with on-speed capabilities were favoured at Rosehill, which is typical for a firm track in Sydney.
While at Doomben, the races were predominantly fence dominated.
Brodie Nickson from Sky Racing has run his eyes over the replays and found some gems to throw into your blackbook.

Rosehill Blackbookers
Race 2 – Zarrose.
Complete forgive run for the four-year-old mare after she went through the line hard held.
It was a slowly run race and the market indicated pre-race she had a mountain task ahead of her as she drifted late.
Zac Lloyd had little options down the straight with horses fading in front of her.
She looks to still have plenty in the locker and must be followed in same grade.
Race 4 – Matusalem.
Huge win, the late strength shown by the son of The Autumn Sun was impressive.
He had a good run in transit, but the way he treated his opposition with contempt was very impressive.
Kerrin McEvoy got the four-year-old’s revs up well into the straight and he motored through his gears.
He produced a big close and indicates he can continue to improve into his racing career.
Race 7 – Snack Bar.
Autumn Glow was brilliant, Iron Hawk was luckless and awesome again.
There is little doubt the two are both brilliant emerging stayers and genuine three-year-old Group 1 contenders, Autumn Glow especially already has one hand on the Group 1 Flight Stakes if she can get there.
However, want to highlight the run of Snack Bar who had an immense amount of improvement to come.
Godolphin gelded the grey three-year-old leading into this campaign and he ran extremely well, presenting as a chance at the turn before his fitness gave way.
Although he doesn’t look like a Group 1 horse, his run was full of merit and is a great horse to follow in similar company over his next few runs.
Race 10 – Briasa.
An undefeated gelding made it four from four in the last at Rosehill.
Tyler Schiller gave the grey a peach, easing off the fence before the bend and extending hard down the straight.
He ran a strong close first-up off one trial and floated through the line.
There is little doubt he has improvement to come and is yet to require that killer instinct in his races.
Certainly looks genuine black-type.

Race 8 – Iverson
Great return from the seven-year-old.
Noel Callow eased the gelding right back to last after jumping well from a wide gate and allowed him to find his feet at the back of the field.
He trucked into the slowly run race and unleashed a monster close, savaging the line behind horses in form.
Iverson produced his best form in two big wins over the mile last preparation and there is little doubt he has returned just as well of the first-up run!
