Saturday racing at Sandown heads to the Hillside track with a bumper nine-race program to be run and won.

Looking to bounce back after last week's two best bets failed to give a return, with ‘The Shaper’ putting in a poor run and ‘Political Debate’ being superb but just way too far back to challenge the finish.

This week’s two best bets include a favourite who should have won last start and another who flies at Sandown at nearly double figures.

Let’s take a look at them.

Sandown Race 4 #5 Batrana $3.90

It was a massive run first-up from this 3yo filly at Caulfield.

She was held up between the 300-200m poles and had to barge between horses to find clear air, before flooding home to finish 3rd.

Looking at this race, she will greatly appreciate both the rise in distance to the 1300m second-up and coming onto the big Sandown Hillside track.

This will allow those from off speed positions to storm home from the back.

She draws barrier 5 and will get a strong pace in front to do just that.

Harry Coffey has ridden her for her entire career but she will get a new jockey this Saturday with his injury.

With even luck, she should be crossing the line first and making it career win number three.

Sandown Race 7 #2 Viviane $9.00

Love how this gun 5yo mare is placed here.

She drops in class and the two times she has been in this grade have resulted in wins on both occasions.

Comes to her favourite track in Sandown, where she has a sensational record of five runs for three wins and two placings.

She is racing in good form and this is easier opposition than what she has been up against in all of her starts this preparation.

Gets a weight relief with apprentice jockey Tatum Bull’s 2kg claim and Bull is a great addition fresh off a riding double at Flemington last Saturday.

While barrier 12 looks bad on paper, she is actually draw perfectly from a speed map perspective with on-pace runners drawn around her.

This should see her off the fence with cover in behind the speed and with that run, she should be right in the finish.
