Saturday Horse Racing Tips for Flemington 3/8/24

Cody's Star on the Rise

We return to Headquarters this Saturday for the feature race meeting of the day in Victoria.
The Group 3 Aurie's Star Handicap up the famous Flemington straight is the feature of the day and one of the two best bets comes up there.
The other top pick is a horse that ran poorly last start but I'm expecting a bounce-back performance this time around on a dry track, rising in distance and getting his most successful jockey back on.
Currently, the track rates as a Soft 5 but with no rain forecasted for the next two days, it will end up being a Good 4.
The running rail is out 10m for the entire circuit but the rail position often doesn’t effect racing at Flemington and it should still race fairly.
One of the best bets looks a star in the making, keen to see what she can do against the older horses.
Flemington Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets
Cody Lane continues to find value amongst his best bets.
Flemington Race 6 #8 Right To Party $3.70
I was extremely impressed with this 4yo mare last start, as she stormed home from the clouds for an impressive 1.3-length victory at this track and distance.
While it stings that she goes around at half the price this start, she is still worth backing despite the challenge of coming up against the older horses here.
The form out of this mares' last start win has been quite solid with ‘Fleetwood’ winning at Randwick and ‘Wallenda’ and ‘Bossy Nic’ placing at Caulfield last Saturday.
Jockey Jye McNeil sticks for the ride and will look to keep his 100% winning record on this mare intact and she is perfectly drawn for her racing style.
She has a superb turn of foot on her and looking forward to seeing if she can showcase it against some veteran sprinters.
Flemington Race 7 #3 Lauding $5.00
The last start result doesn’t read all that well but he had excuses in that run.
While he wasn’t travelling well enough to win he should have finished much closer, having been held up for a run for most of the straight.
He comes into this second-up and rises in distance to the 2000m, where he has an exceptional record of 3 wins and 2 placings from 6 starts.
Now he gets Ben Melham back aboard for the ride and he is the one who has ridden this 5yo Gelding to his 2 Australian wins.
Also comes back onto a dry track, where he has a significantly better record (3 wins, 4 placings from 8 runs) than when running on rain-effected tracks.
He draws well and should settle closer to the speed this time around and will be right in the finish.
