Best Bets for Murray Bridge by Heath Pope

 

Race 2 #4 Kinetic Jewel $3.60

This above-average mare from the Phillip Stokes yard impressed last start despite drifting in the market, finishing strongly from a wide position.

The drop back in class here should see her benefit from that run, and she’s drawn to settle closer this time.

While she faces a smart one in Spirit Of Camelot, the 1100m suits her well.

Rated as favourite at $2.75, I expect Kinetic Jewel to give this race a serious shake.

 

Race 3 #7 Flambard $6.50

This lightly raced gelding from Byron Cozamanis has been unlucky in his two runs this prep, held up and steadied at crucial moments.

Third-up and stepping up to 1400m at Murray Bridge’s roomy track should be ideal.

With Todd Pannell back on board and a quick back-up from last week, Flambard looks ready to peak.

He’s a great each-way bet and rates well at $4.50.
