Saturday Horse Racing Tips at Morphettville 21/9/24

Saturday's racing program in South Australia offers a tough and competitive challenge for punters as action returns to the Parks circuit.

Race 4 #5 Lavish Thinker $4.20

The Phillip Stokes-trained visitor looks primed to peak third-up, stepping up to his preferred distance for the first time this preparation.

His last run was an eye-catcher, storming home late in a tougher race than this.

With an ideal draw and minimal work needed early on, Lavish Thinker looks very hard to hold out.

He rates well at $3.30.

 

Race 5 #2 La Casona $5.00

A lightly raced prospect from the Ciaron Maher yard, La Casona appears ideally placed here.

She typically settles near the pace and from a great draw, she should find herself in a favourable position again.

Dropping 3kg after the claim and dropping slightly in trip, she’s in a race that seems a touch easier than her recent Victorian starts. She rates as a strong winning chance at $3.80.

 

Race 8 #14 Angelic Appeal $19.00

This mare’s first-up effort was massive, only narrowly missing out with 59kg on her back.

Forgive her second-up disappointment on a Heavy track, as she didn’t handle the conditions.

The market may have overlooked her, but third-up she’s fresh and back on firmer ground.

Racing off the minimum weight in a BM64 with a solid tempo expected, she’s well worth an each-way bet at generous odds of $8.50 or better.
