Saturday Horse Racing Tips at Morphettville 1/6/24

Racing in SA this Saturday returns to Morphettville with the track in the Good range.

The rail is out a massive 10m from the 1200m to the winning post and out 8m for the remainder.

This looks a tough program to dissect, especially with numerous runners still nominated for interstate races.

My initial strategy will involve taking on most favourites with some appearing significantly unders, while having big question marks over their form..

Below are a couple of interstate raiders that should be hard to beat at more than suitable prices.

 

 

Best Bets for Morphettville by Heath Pope

Race 3 #3 Tycoon Harmony $5.00

This Peter Gelagotis trained border-hopper is rarely far away in his races, despite only having the one win this campaign.

Interestingly that success came when he ventured here to tackle this same track and distance three starts back.

His two subsequent efforts have also been full of merit and he looks to get conditions to suit here.

Although we have just the eight starters here, I'm expecting the tempo up front to be genuine with Tycoon Harmony mapping to enjoy an ideal trail.

From there he will get a great tow into the straight and be hard to hold out.

I'm also very keen to take on the favourite Easy Campese at the short quote.

He will be one of those up on that genuine tempo, rises 6kg and I'm not convinced about him at the mile.

Typhoon Harmoney rates $4.00 and is the clear standout play in the race.

 

Race 5 #2 Home Rule $5.00

A Maddie Raymond visitor that has also accepted at Caulfield in a much tougher race.

He is a consistent galloper that was simply outclassed first-up behind the flying Sans Doute at Listed level.

His two subsequent close-up placings, against this same grade, have both had plenty of merit.

This is including last time, where he was desperately unlucky not to score under his big weight.

He will settle a lot closer to the pace, while the favourite Klabel is a definite map query drawn out in ten.
