Rosehill Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 1/7/23

Racing returns to Rosehill with plenty of intriguing races on the card.

The rail is in out 4m for the entire circuit and the weather is expected to be brilliant leading in.

Our leading NSW form analysts have settled on their best plays for the meeting.

 

Rosehill Tip from Luke Hovhanesian

 

Rosehill Race 1 #3 Powerful Peg $7.00

The run first up was a lot better than the form guide suggests.

She was forced to go back from a wide barrier and ran on well in a race dictated by the leaders.

Now second up, she strips fitter and draws soft allowing her to land in a more forward position.

Dylan Gibbons knocks off 1.5kg and knows the horse well riding it 6 times previously.

Looks really well placed to chalk up another win.

Rosehill Tip from Michael Gannon

 

Rosehill Race 2 #8 Fearnought $9.00

This mare from the Waller yard impressed last start when making good ground into third.

She was ridden cold on a day when it wasn't easy to make up ground.

She was fairly exposed from the top of the straight, but still managed to chase home eventual winner Vienna Princess.

The leader stuck on for 2nd, adding merit to the run of Fearnought and Vienna Princess.

Now 4th up and at peak fitness, she finds a very winnable race in a small field of 9 and will be close enough if good enough.

The short-priced favourite Semana is likely to come under some pressure from Pretty Wild in the run which will hopefully be her undoing.

Fearnought has been out of the winner's circle for close to a year, but I expect her to return in a big way on Saturday.

Rosehill Race 8 #5 Kibou $2.00

Kibou is the best bet of the day.

The 3yo was outstanding first up after having to work hard early to cross and lead.

This was telling late when he was beaten by a pimple by the smart Iowna Merc.

He strips fitter with 3 weeks in-between runs and rises to the 1500m.

He gets a soft lead and looks hard to beat.
