Exclusive preview for 4 Group 1's

Fans of NSW racing are served up a buffet of Group 1 racing this weekend with not only the running of the Golden Slipper but 4 prestigious Group 1's in their own right.
There are plenty of interesting stories emerging through these fields:
- Rosehill Guineas - Can Manzoice repeat his G1 Victoria Derby victory from the Spring?
- Ranvet Stakes - Will any of these international raiders make a bang in their Aus debut?
- George Ryder Stakes - Can Anamoe continue on his winning ways?
- The Galaxy - Is Uncommon James the real deal?
Luke Hovhanesian and Mick Gannon have run their eyes over the fields and have their top plays for each respective race.
Track Conditions
The track is rated a Soft 6 as of Thursday morning but is expected to improve throughout the week.
The rail is out 2m the entire and at this set up the track should play fair.
From the 1200m start on-pace runners and those who can find the rail are at an advantage.
Race 4 - Rosehill Guineas (2000m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Matcha Latte is the one I want to be with.
He was plagued by rain-affected tracks in the Spring and is now back on the drier deck in the Autumn.
He’s looking like a better horse and his ratings back that up.
First up he was huge running 3rd 0.36L in the Hobartville. Last start he was luckless along the inside in the Randwick Guineas, in a run that screamed get me to 2000m.
He’s drawn 5, so he won’t be cluttered up along the rail this time and I suspect we’ll see the best version of him on Saturday.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
Elliptical is set to get a beautiful run throughout here on the leader's back.
Lindermann will do its best to cross the field from the wide barrier to lead, along with Ausbred Rising Sun who won't want to waste its good barrier.
Elliptical and Pericles will settle in the box seats and with only a moderate tempo expected, I expect the top 4 to fight this out.
If the gap opens on the inside I trust Elliptical under Mark Zahra has the sharpest turn of foot to put these away over the 2000m.
It is worth noting that this was the exact same set-up he had last year before tackling the Spring Champion Stakes when second to Sharp N Smart.
Race 6 - Ranvet Stakes (2000m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Hinged gets her chance to break through for that elusive 2nd Group 1.
Her first two runs this prep she was 0.8 and 3.2L off Anamoe.
At her last start, she drew wide and was restrained to last, before running home very well.
That run has her spot on for this.
She’ll lead them up with J Mac aboard and if they leave her alone in the run, I doubt they’ll be able to get past her.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
Hinged is the map horse here and is drawn to get all the favours throughout.
JMac is booked and can use barrier 1, plus her fitness to punch up and be prominent.
A number of her key rivals will be giving her a start and if she gets it cheaply throughout, I can't see them running her down.
Race 7 - George Ryder (1500m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Anamoe draws wide which will hopefully see him drift in the betting.
He has shown the ability to roll forward and sit handily in recent times and I expect to see the same on Saturday.
If he finds the running line, the race is all over. If he gets caught 3wide, we could see a contest.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
Anamoe goes on top if we were running a tipping comp, but as for betting there is plenty of value in this market.
Converge ran a bottler in Canterbury Stakes over an unsuited 1300m.
He strips fitter here and looks to have come back super.
The step up to 1500m is still a tad short of his best, but if we get to a genuine Good 4 track by Saturday I am expecting a big run.
From barrier 6 Tim Clark has plenty of options and if he gets a snug run throughout he is a real blowout hope at $41.
Looks like a great place bet at $6.
Race 9 - The Galaxy (1100m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Uncommon James has announced himself as a top-line sprinter, winning the Oakleigh plate in fine style.
From barrier 4, he’ll land on speed and with the 54.5kg, he’ll produce a strong sprint and prove hard to catch.
He produced a career peak last start and can easily go on with it here.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
What a race and isn't there speed to burn from a few of these.
Mariamia goes on top for me at the $12 quote.
She returns from a freshen-up after a flat run over 1300m and the step down to 1100m looks to suit.
They are going to run this hard up top, and horses who don't mind 1200-1300m look very appealing.
She can get a nice sit-in behind them and when they all start to paddle late, she can be one of the strongest with only 51kg.
