Randwick Tips: Speed Maps Specials 4 August 2018

The Randwick track is currently rated a Good 4 with the rail out 4m the entire circuit. 

At the last Randwick meeting, the track was rated a Good 3 with the rail in the true position. This set-up offered favours to on-pace runners.

With the rail out a further 4m for this meeting expect that theme to continue, with rails in the run and leaders suited.  

 

Randwick Race 4 Tip # 5 Belle du Sud $6 

This lightly raced runner from the Waterhouse/Bott yard has shown early dash over the shorter distances in both starts this preparation, and looks ready to take the step-up to the 1800m here. 

The mare by Savabeel gets into this race carrying the minimum of only 53kg and looks to get all the favours in front. 

Drawn barrier seven, expect jockey Rachel King to cross to the rails and carve out some slow early sectionals. 

Now reaching peak fitness, Belle du Sud should prove too difficult to run down.  

 

Randwick Race 8 Tip #10 Island Missile $2.90

The Smart Missile gelding was ultra-impressive winning when back in grade to mid-week company last start. 

In a sign of confidence, star hoop James McDonald has been booked to ride from barrier three. 

The team Snowden trained runner is set to receive the gun run behind the nominated leader Samadoubt. 

From this position, McDonald should find clear running in the straight and produce this gelding's nice turn-of-foot. 

Island Missile is a talented galloper and looks set to make it back-to-back wins this Saturday.
