Randwick Tips for the Oaks Sydney Cup Queen Elizabeth and Queen of the Turf

Best Bets for all the Group 1 action

Royal Randwick hosts day 2 of The Championships and after the blood bath last week, punters are ready to strike back.
The same can't be said for followers of last week's edition of this article after Luke steered followers into Militarised that saluted at $34.
There are plenty of interesting stories emerging through these fields:
- Australian Oaks - Will the Kiwis steal more of our prize money with their star raiders?
- Sydney Cup - Can Knights Order go back to back?
- Queen Elizabeth - Anamoe vs the UK's best
- Queen Of The Turf - Is the $10 million dollar mare a moral?
Mick Gannon and Luke Hovhanesian have run their eyes over the fields, picking out their top plays for each respective race.
Track Conditions
The track is currently rated a Heavy 8, but with minimal showers expected before the weekend, this should see an upgrade into the Soft territory.
The rail is out 4m after being in the true position last week. The track should play fair early in the card before runners scout wider as the day progresses to find the A-ground.
Race 6 - Australian Oaks (2400m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Two horse play with Pierossa ($10) and Mountain Guest ($34).
Pierossa made good ground in the G1 Vinery Stud and should relish the 2400m on Saturday.
Mountain Guest led them up in a slowly run race, her last 50m suggested she had plenty more to give.
She will relish a strong tempo.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
Looking to play two horses in this field with Pierossa ($10) and So Dazzling ($34) representing great value bets.
They both have come through the Group 1 Vinery Stud and after having hard runs at the rear of the field made good late ground.
Their runs will have toughened them right up and now 4th up they are set to peak in this event.
Additionally, Sam Clipperton and Joao Moreira are both in sparkling form.
If they can get their rides to the centre of the track they will be hard to hold out.
Race 7 - Sydney Cup (3200m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Just can't ignore Cleveland ($4) and the credentials of Joseph O'Brien.
His last 200m in the Tancred suggests he's ready to fire and at the weights he's top rated.
Arapaho and King Frankel are the best of the locals.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
Not a race I am overly keen on, but will be having something very small on Sir Lucan ($41) who has been impressive in his return prep from a long spell.
He came to Australia two years back with boom hype around him as a Melbourne Cup winner, and to me this has sort of been forgotten.
Waterhouse / Bott have proven they can win staying races in recent times with Knights Order (Syd cup) last year and Major Beel (Aus Derby) last week.
He has proven he can handle tracks with the cut out of the ground and is set to run a bottler here 4th up.
Race 8 - Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m)
Mick Gannon Tip
In the camp of Anamoe ($2.50) over Dubai Honour, but the price is no spoil.
I've sided with Montefilia ($21) as an each-way play. She's the forgotten horse, who will relish the rain-affected going.
Her last two runs have been great and have her ready to peak on Saturday.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
I'm siding with the champ, Anamoe ($2.50).
He has tackled everything thrown in front of him in his career to date and has given no reason to drop off now.
Fourth up he will be at peak fitness, gets Jmac and has a great draw inside Dubai Honour.
He should be able to slot into the moving line and let rip down the centre of the track.
Race 9 - Queen Of The Turf (1600m)
Mick Gannon Tip
Probably the hardest race of the day to assess.
Promise Of Success ($81) is a ridiculous price, on my GTX Ratings database, I have her marked $21.
The race wasn't run to suit last start and she can easily turn the tables on a few of those, including my other selection Atishu.
Atishu ($13) was very good from beyond midfield last start.
She'll need plenty of luck in transit but with Nash Rawiller from barrier 1, we can expect an aggressive ride.
Luke Hovhanesian Tip
My final play will be with the Kiwi raider Levante ($8).
I love the booking of Damian Lane who is a big-time rider for international stables.
She will drift back in the field and by the second last race, the good ground will be all out wide.
She can come with a booming finish over the top.
