Randwick Tips and Best Bets for Saturday 16/12/23

Randwick plays host to Saturday metropolitan racing in Sydney on Saturday, with scorching hot conditions giving punters plenty of opportunities to make a buck.

The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail is out 4m for the entire circuit. It was situated in the true position last Saturday, when most winners came from on-speed positions.

NSW form experts Mick Gannon and Dean Watling have settled on their best bets for the meeting.

 

Randwick Best Bet from Dean Watling

 

Race 6 #10 Boston Rocks $2.60

I'm keen to side with the Nathan Doyle trained Boston Rocks in Race 5 over the 1100m.

The Nathan Doyle stable is in incredibly good form, striking at 21% over the past 6 months and they have Boston Rocks firing on all cylinders.

In the lead up to this, he has had two very impressive trials visually, which have been backed up on the clock.

He brings dominant figures from his last prep and looks very suited in this grade.

Hard to beat. 

 

 

Randwick Best Bet from Mick Gannon

 

Race 10 #11 Shohei $5.50

Whilst the stats tell us she’s a better first-up horse, this mare's career peak rating came second-up last preparation in tough grade.

The Hawkes trained galloper will derive benefit from her first-up run and looks very well placed here.

From the good gate and with TC aboard, she’ll land on speed and prove very hard to run down on what is set to be a fast Randwick track.
