Randwick Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 24/6/23

Racing returns to Randwick with plenty of intriguing races on the card.

The rail is out 6m and the weather is expected to be mixed with scattered showers leading in.

Our leading NSW form analysts have settled on their best plays for the meeting.

 

Randwick Tip from Luke Hovhanesian

 

Randwick Race 8 #5 Baby Rider $27.00

I was really keen on this 5YO when he first landed on Australian shores in 2022.

He had a brilliant trial indicating the talent was there but then had a really muddled preparation.

For whatever reason, connections continued to dodge wet tracks time and time again, and by the time he ran he had lost some of that crucial race fitness.

He contested the Goulburn Cup and didn't make a dent.

He has since been spelled, sent for another two trials and looks to make his mark this Winter.

His last trial at Randwick was brilliant running on very powerfully through the line.

He draws soft here, gets Ashley Morgan on board and is set to get a great run throughout.

Blackbook him cause if he doesn't lob here, he will be primed for a huge second-up run.

Randwick Tip from Michael Gannon

 

Randwick Race 4 #1 Contemporary $4.40

A first-up winner who comes through some strong form races with the likes of Plundering and Devil's Throat.

The step up to 1300m is ideal as is the 1.5kg claim for the in-form apprentice Zac Lloyd.

The draw of barrier 7 is perfect and with plenty of speed engaged, he'll sit off the speed and will be the one flying late.

Randwick Race 4 #1 Contemporary $4.40

Contemporary looks ready to win here deep into his prep.

He has been improving with racing and comes off an outstanding run last start where he ran the 4th fastest 800m-200m of the meeting over the 1200m.

He now rises to 1300m here and draws a good gate.

The cherry on tip is the 1.5kg claim of the in-form Zac Lloyd being aboard.
