Nic Ashman Horse Racing Tips for Bletchingly Stakes 22/7/23

Godolphin will look for an improved showing from Ingratiating when he lines up in Saturday’s Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield.

The four-year-old failed when resuming in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes but history shows older males have a terrific record in Saturday’s feature.

Failed first-up in the Sir John Monash Stakes as a warm favourite.

I note his last 200m was awful, but they have now applied a tongue tie.

Is it possible he got his tongue over the bit?

 

Working in his favour are drier conditions although would’ve preferred he drew wider.

He lacks natural speed and could end up back along the inside which is rarely the place to be at Caulfield over sprint trips.

That said, he can follow General Beau into the race which looks like a strong play.
