Heath Pope Horse Racing Tips for Murray Bridge

Racing in SA returns to Murray Bridge with fine weather predicted until Saturday.

What that brings is a welcome return to a Good surface and the hope that the track finally plays fair for all runners.

This will be the first time in 10 weeks that the rail is set in the true position and tactics from runners will be key.

 

Race 4 #3 Sparkup $6.50

This Richard and Chantelle Jolly gelding is more than handy and is somewhat underrated, often being sent out at odds bigger than his ability.

Having had three runs back, he is now more than ready to produce his best.

He put the writing on the wall second up when placing behind two in-form runners in Metro Legend and Picargo, before an eye-catching 1.6L 4th last Saturday.

The step up to 1400m looks like the ideal distance now as a budding 6YO and he gets another great set-up this weekend.

Importantly he finds a race where the tempo appears genuine upfront and presents as a cracking each-way play.

I have rated him a $4.50 chance and can see him starting much shorter come race time.

 

Race 5 #4 Rodeo $4.50

This 5YO mare has been honest in all three runs back this preparation and has her foot right on the till.

While performing well she hasn’t been able to run down the leaders in what have been some real sit/sprint affairs.

She maps to enjoy a very similar trail this weekend however on this occasion, the profiled leaders simply aren’t as strong.

She has opened up at an extremely appealing price and I'll be hoping favourite Jean Valjean stays in the race to ensure a good price remains.

I've rated her a $3.50 chance given no scratchings.

Jaazeb (7) and Aadelad (3) are two worth throwing in exotics at double-figure odds.

 

Race 6 #6 Jet Jitsu $3.60

Dual acceptor (also accepted Flemington R2).

A Victorian visitor that comes off a complete forgive effort when first up, when caught behind runners.

I concede that he invariably requires luck in his races as he concedes a start however also possesses a big engine.

He should seriously relish the spacious Murray Bridge layout whilst importantly appearing to get tempo to suit.

I am expecting him to sprint right over the top of these given clear air.

Real keen. I've rated him $3.00.

Cool Magnum (4) is the danger given he should lead, whilst Left Hand Man (1) wouldn’t shock fresh at double figure odds.

 

Race 7 #1 Oracle Son $3.40

A really promising type that is in for a nice campaign. He bolted in second up and now returns to the scene of the crime.

On that occasion, he disposed of some handy types despite covering ground throughout.

He lost no admirers last start after doing plenty of work early on to still get within 2.5L of Merchant Boss.

He maps to do no work here trailing the pace and I expect his class to prevail given just even luck.

Another I am really keen on.

I have rated him $3.00!

Lonrodex (2) is the danger whilst Naleigh (6) is a roughie that wouldn’t surprise.
