The track played extremely fair last week, even with the weather and track managers and punters alike will be hoping for a repeat dose.

Morphettville has seen grey skies however with only fine weather predicted between now and race day, the track is expected to be around a Slow 6/7.

This recent addition to the Travis Doudle Stable came in for plenty of support when resuming on Saturday.

He was a tragic watch for supporters and should have bolted in.

He never saw clear daylight climbing all over heels for the final 100m before still finishing a close-up 0.5L fourth.

As a rule, I never back horses second-up off just a seven-day back-up.

However, I am prepared to totally disregard that considering this run was seriously just like a trial gallop.

He was a strong second-up winner last campaign and maps to settle a lot closer over the more ideal trip.

Race 3 #5 Alpha Flight $8.50

Richard & Chantelle trained galloper who presented as a promising two-year-old.

He simply didn’t come up last campaign and I'm prepared to put a line through his two disappointing efforts.

A recent trial suggested he may be back to his best when never fully tested in the quickest heat of the morning.

His best form has also all been on rain-affected going and he gets conditions to suit this weekend.

I expect him to give us a big sight with his early dazzling pace and he's impossible not to speck each way at the seemingly generous opening odds.
