Whilst plenty of punters will be banking on ‘Amelia's Jewel’ and ‘Imperatriz’ to kick off their long weekend multi in style, there's some great betting opportunities on Friday night's Moonee Valley card.
The track is rated a Good 4, with the running rail in the True position for the entire circuit.
As always with this set-up, expect a slight advantage to horses which are drawn inside-middle barriers and settle either on-pace or midfield.
I have idenfited two runners who will suit these conditions perfectly.
Cody Lane has made over $1K profit over the last 90 days!
Moonee Valley Race 4 #4 Fetch $4.00
Whenever Steven O’Dea & Matt Hoysted bring one of their horses down from Queensland, you simply must follow.
This is particularly the case in Victoria, where they boast an incredible 6 winners from 13 runners (46.2% strike rate) at an average win price of $6.60. This equates to a very tidy return of 206% POT.
They will look to continue that incredible run with this 5yo Sebring mare, who flies fist-up (4: 3-0-0) and draws perfectly in barrier 4.
Look for her to get the run of the race just off the pace and she has the in-form Damian Lane aboard to pilot her. Lane is flying, having notched up 25 winners from his last 100 rides.
While this a step-up in class for the mare, her trainers don’t send horses to Victoria unless they have an extremely high chance of winning.
Moonee Valley Race 5 #6 King Of Fighters $4.60
The Exford Plate at Flemington looks to be the right race to follow into this event, and this 3YO Street Boss colt was easily the best run in that race.
He had very little luck when weaving through traffic that day, when being held-up on a couple of occasions before hitting the line with a burst late to finish 3rd.
He would've won if he was able to get off eventual winner Griff's heels sooner.
They meet again here level at the weights, however the rise in distance will suit King Of Fighters.
He has the ability to race up on-pace as seen in his first two starts, and I suspect Damian Lane will attempt to go forward here.
Look for Lane to cross from barrier 9 and land outside the lead, where he will prove very tough to beat.
