Race 1 – Vetwelve $4.00

Vetwelve made an encouraging debut, finishing strongly into sixth over 1250m.

That effort suggested he’d benefit from a step up in distance.

After being sent for a spell, he returned with two trials to sharpen up and followed them with another impressive performance first-up at Canterbury over the same trip.

Now second-up, he steps out to 1400m on a more spacious track, a move that looks ideal for this promising son of Grunt.

From barrier 6, expect Molly Bourke to position him midfield with cover before unleashing a strong finishing burst to overhaul his rivals late.

Vetwelve appears primed to break through for his maiden victory.

Race 4 – Bartolf $2.25

Bartolf showed plenty of improvement second-up at Beaumont, delivering a super performance that suggests he’s returned better than ever this preparation.

Now third-up and approaching peak fitness, he looks ready to take on the rise in grade confidently.

From a favourable draw, Bartolf should settle midfield with cover, conserving energy for a strong finishing sprint.

With his current form and fitness, he’s well-placed to storm home and be a major player in this race.
