Horse Racing Tips for the Tatts Tiara 2026

The final Group 1 of the Queensland Winter Carnival looks another fascinating contest, with a capacity field of fillies and mares set to clash over 1400 metres in the Tattersall's Tiara.
There are winning chances right across the market, with key form lines emerging from the Stradbroke Handicap, Fred Best Classic, Moreton Cup and several Listed features.
Race shape and track pattern are again expected to play a huge role, particularly with many of the leading hopes likely to settle off the speed.
The way Eagle Farm has played throughout the carnival suggests momentum from the 600m will be critical, and Neil Evans believes another swooper can finish over the top under a light weight.
Track Conditions
The track is expected to race around a Soft 5 to Soft 6 after light showers throughout the lead-up.
The rail returns to the True position after being out 4m at the previous meeting, meaning runners on speed should enjoy fresh ground early in the day.
As racing progresses, expect horses making their runs down the middle and wider lanes to hold the advantage.

Speed Map
Poster Girl looks the likely leader and should cross to control the race early.
Manaal is expected to settle just off the speed, while Tuileries, Gerringong and Blindedbythelight should all enjoy economical runs from favourable barriers.
Super Smink, Within The Law, Ahha Ahha and Soft Love are likely to settle around midfield with cover.
Splash Back, Melody Again, Firestorm and Paradise City are among those expected to settle towards the rear before launching late.
With several runners preferring to finish off strongly, the tempo should build well before the home turn and give the backmarkers every opportunity.
The Favourite
Splash Back deserves to head betting after two outstanding performances at Group 1 level this preparation.
The Victorian mare has had little luck in consecutive elite-level races since her dominant Victory Stakes win and has continued to produce outstanding closing sectionals despite circumstances working against her.
Fifth-up and back against mares, she gets another ideal opportunity to claim a deserved Group 1 victory.
Neil Evans' Best Bet
Race 8 – #12 Within The Law
Neil believes Within The Law represents the best value play in the race.
The lightly raced filly arrives fourth-up at exactly the right stage of her preparation and receives a valuable weight advantage against the older mares.
Her closing second in the Group 3 Fred Best Classic was full of merit, particularly considering the strength of the form that has already come from the race.
The winner, Skyhook, has since franked that form again, while Within The Law's finishing effort suggested she is ready for the rise back to 1400 metres.
The race shape also appears far more favourable this time. With stronger pressure expected throughout, she can settle quietly before producing her finishing sprint at the right time.
An important gear change also catches the eye, with blinkers applied for the first time.
At around the $8.50 mark, Evans believes she's one of the standout value bets of the Brisbane Carnival.
Main Dangers
Splash Back
A quality mare who has been desperately unlucky in consecutive Group 1 appearances. If she gets clear running at the right time, she'll take plenty of beating.
Manaal
Looks set to improve sharply second-up after an unlucky effort in the Moreton Cup. Maps to enjoy a soft run near the speed and has the class to feature.
Tuileries
Comes into this race in career-best form after flashing home to win at Scone. Draws to receive cover throughout and looks another genuine winning chance.
Melody Again
Will likely settle near the rear but possesses an explosive finish. Her effort through traffic in the Listed Eyeliner suggested she's ready for this level and the spacious Eagle Farm circuit should suit perfectly.
