A wide-open edition of the Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara at Eagle Farm just got trickier for punters, with several early favourites drawing awkwardly in a capacity field of fillies and mares.
Fortunately, the 1400m start provides a long 400m run before the first bend, giving most runners a fair chance to find position.
With weight-for-age conditions and a strong tempo expected, early cover and smart rides will be vital.

Track Conditions & Map Insight
The track is rated a Soft 5 heading into Friday, but with fine weather forecast, expect a Good 4 by race time.
The rail is out 6m, two metres wider than the last meeting. This means by the late races, fresh ground wider out could be the place to be.
From a speed perspective, Grinzinger Belle ($14.00) looks the most likely leader from a midfield draw.
Floozie ($4.60) and Bubba’s Bay are expected to track across from wide barriers and race handy, while others like Tashi, Adiella, and Abounding sit just behind the speed.
Backmarkers Firestorm ($4.60), Coeur Volante, and Zaszou will be looking to charge home late from wide draws.
The Favourite: Floozie
Chasing five straight wins, Floozie heads the market after a dominant display in the Group 2 Dane Ripper.
She boasts elite sectionals and a rock-solid form line but must now step up to weight-for-age company and navigate a tougher draw.
She’ll be prominent in the run but faces new challenges in this deeper field.
Neil’s Best Bet: Firestorm
While she’ll settle well back, Firestorm profiles as the most talented mare in the field—especially on a firmer surface.
The rising pressure and strong early tempo will suit her get-back-and-run-on pattern, and her explosive turn of foot can overcome the draw.
Over 1400m, she can unleash late and blow past them.
Top Dangers
-
Floozie – In elite form and maps well to give a huge sight up front. Big test under WFA.
-
Tashi – Has been narrowly beaten in each of her past three and looks primed at 1400m.
-
Abounding – Ready to peak after solid runs behind elite company, including War Machine.
-
Olentia – Draws to sit midfield and finish off strongly. Don’t underestimate her on the quick back-up.
