Horse Racing Tips for the Heritage Stakes & Golden Pendant 2024

One of the crowning race days of the Sydney Spring Carnival is here with the Golden Rose Stakes.

Two of TheGreatTipOff.com’s top analysts, Mick Gannon and Luke Hovhanesian, have just released their best bets.

Race 3 - Colin Stephen Quality (2400m) - Luke Hovhanesian

Campaldino ($7.50) is the clear value in this race and continues to improve with racing.

He was brave up on speed last start and was only reeled in late by Matusalem.

In a race that lacks any genuine speed, Campaldino is going to get all the favours up on pace and with Tim Clark in the saddle looks primed for a big performance.

 

 

Race 5 - Heritage Stakes (1100m) - Luke Hovhanesian

Gatsby's ($2.20) looks primed for a big bounce back performance here.

The surface wasn't to his liking last start and the softer track this Saturday should play right into his wheelhouse.

Will need a bit of luck finding clear running from barrier 1 but if he gets it, can storm over his rivals for a convincing win.

The other I want to speck is Perspiration ($31.00) at a ridiculous quote.

I thought he was quite good behind all the way winner Storm Boy first up and he is going to thrive back onto the softer track.

He has a real touch of class about him and will get all the favours in running from barrier 4.

 

Race 7 - Golden Pendant (1400m) - Mick Gannon

Amelia's Jewel ($3.00) was huge first-up, running the very talented Royal Patronage to within 1.3 lengths.

She gave him a big head start and was exposed at the top of the straight, setting out to chase down the leaders without having a backside to follow for the entire straight.

Her effort to finish as close as she did suggests she's come back as good as ever and will likely win a few races this prep.

She finds a much easier assignment this time around, racing against her own sex in a small field.

Tommy Berry retains the ride, and from barrier 5, look for Berry to stalk Semana wherever she goes before peeling off and stamping herself as a genuine Group 1 contender this prep.

 

 

 

Race 9 - Shannon Stakes (1500m) - Mick Gannon

Several big names line up here, and few are bigger than Celestial Legend ($4.80).

He brings a strong second-up record into the race, though his first-up run was considered lacklustre by some.

He’ll need to improve significantly to be a winning chance here, and I'm willing to bet around him given the amount of speed on paper.

Look for New Energy ($9.00), Osipenko ($12.00), and Tanhauser ($18.00) to all be charging at the line.

This is a great race for betting exotics and trying to snag a result.
