Mick Gannon – Rosehill Saturday Best Bets 4/7/26

Race 4 – #1 Big Red Tequila

Big Red Tequila looks one of the strongest bets on the Rosehill program.

This race lacks genuine depth and she appears to hold a clear class edge after taking on much stronger opposition throughout her preparation.

Her recent efforts behind the talented Ice Kool are excellent form references for a race like this, and dropping back to face her own sex is a significant advantage.

She's a proven performer at 1100 metres and, from a small field, should be able to settle exactly where she wants to in running without spending any petrol early.

If she reproduces the form she's shown at her past two starts, Gannon believes she'll simply prove too good for this field.

Race 9 – #15 Glorious Moments

Glorious Moments is Gannon's top-rated runner of the day and looks exceptionally well placed.

Last start he produced a brilliant performance, overcoming a tough three-wide run while carrying 60.5kg before putting the race away with a sharp burst of acceleration late.

This time the setup is even more favourable.

From barrier four he should settle comfortably in the first half-dozen runners without doing any work, while a massive 7.5kg drop in weight sees him carry just 53kg.

With a softer run in transit and a significant weight advantage, Gannon expects him to unleash an even stronger finishing sprint.

If the race unfolds as expected, he believes Glorious Moments has the turn of foot to simply outclass his rivals.
