Race 8 #1 Broadsiding

Broadsiding resumes first-up under identical conditions to when he won the Group 1 Golden Rose at the same track and distance last preparation. On that occasion, he defeated Traffic Warden, Storm Boy, and Linebacker, all of whom had a fitness edge over him.

This time around, there’s every indication he’s even more forward leading into his return. He has trialled twice, with his latest trial being particularly impressive, where he settled off his rivals before cruising through the line under a strong hold.

Off a 103-day break, he’s fit and ready to fire first-up, and with James McDonald aboard, he’ll be incredibly hard to beat. Expect him to settle just behind the speed and unleash his powerful sprint late.

 

Race 10 #5 Shesanalister

Shesanalister resumed with a career-best performance last start, putting together a huge finishing burst to reel in her rivals despite spotting them 4.5 lengths at the 600m.

She produced the second-fastest final 600m, 400m, and 200m of the meeting, which suggests she’s returned in career-best form.

Second-up, she will strip even fitter, and with the benefit of a solid first-up performance, she should be right in the finish again. Expect her to be charging home late down the middle of the track, looking to go back-to-back.
