Racing heads to Rosehill this Saturday and Mick Gannon has done the form to bring you his key selections.
With the track rated a Heavy 8 and the rail true, conditions should be fair for all runners.
Mick has identified a few standout chances on the card that are worth following.
Let’s take a look at Mick’s tips for Saturday’s meeting.
Rosehill Best Bet and Tips from Mick Gannon
Mick continues to nail his best bets at a good rate!
Race 7 #5 – Saltcoats $3.70
Saltcoats is in career-best form and looks perfectly placed to continue his winning streak on a rain-affected Rosehill track over 2000m.
He’s been scoring in impressive style in his last two starts and now drops significantly in weight, from 58kg to 53.5kg as he steps up from BM88 to Listed grade.
His career peak came on a Heavy 8 in New Zealand, which suggests he’ll thrive under the expected conditions.
With his proven ability and a favourable setup, Saltcoats shapes as the best bet of the weekend.
Race 8 #12 – Midnight Opal $5.50
Midnight Opal returns to his happy hunting ground at Rosehill, where he was dominant two starts back over 1300m on a Heavy 8 surface.
That victory came in BM78 grade, so this rise in class presents a challenge, but he’s well-handicapped with just 54.5kg on his back.
This gelding clearly loves this setup, and from an on-speed position, he’s likely to give his rivals a huge sight.
At the current price, Midnight Opal represents great value.
