Race 2 – #1 Smashing Time

Smashing Time looks ready to continue his improvement this campaign.

His victory at Gosford five weeks ago was full of merit, producing a strong rating after controlling the race from the front and never giving his rivals a chance to get into the contest.

The freshen-up since that run looks ideal and he maps to find a very similar position here.

If he can cross comfortably and dictate the tempo again, he becomes extremely difficult to run down.

He's always shown ability and this preparation appears to be the one where everything is finally starting to come together.

Race 5 – #6 Surf's Up

Surf's Up is racing well enough to win and gets her chance here.

Her latest run at Randwick was much better than it reads in the form guide after being forced to jump from a wide barrier and cover additional ground throughout the race.

Despite the tough run, she was still finding the line strongly and was beaten less than a length at the finish.

The effort suggested she is building nicely towards a breakthrough victory.

This time she draws to enjoy a much softer run in transit and the claim only enhances her chances.
