Mick Gannon – Randwick Saturday Best Bets 25/7/26

Race 5 – #13 Horizons $4.60

Horizons looked to be building towards a victory before striking an unsuitable Heavy track in a genuinely run race last start.

She now returns to a much drier surface, which is expected to suit her far better, and the race map sets up ideally.

From her draw she should be able to settle on speed without doing too much work and, in a small field, she'll have every opportunity to control the race before producing a strong kick in the straight.

With conditions back in her favour, Gannon believes she's ready to bounce back.

Race 7 – #1 Benevac $3.00

Benevac had been knocking on the door with several excellent performances against the race pattern before breaking through in dominant fashion a fortnight ago.

That victory should give her plenty of confidence heading into this assignment, and she again maps beautifully in what shapes as a genuinely run race.

With the expected tempo allowing her to settle into a perfect position before using her strength late, Gannon expects Benevac to continue on her winning way.
